Getting started

Learn the basic workspace flow from setup to estimate, job, and follow-up.

The workspace flow

CrafterOps is organized around the way trade work moves through the business:

  1. Set up the business profile and default pricing rules.
  2. Add products and services in Settings.
  3. Create an estimate from scope, measurements, labor, and materials.
  4. Send an official estimate or a customer proposal with selectable options.
  5. Record the customer approval and any required deposit, then convert approved work into a job.
  6. Upload project photos and keep customer records current.
  7. Follow up with customers who can receive marketing.
  • Open Settings and confirm company name, industry, currency, labor rates, margin, tax, and customer terms.
  • Open Settings > Products & services and add starter products or services.
  • Create one test estimate before sending real customer work.
  • Review the customer preview before sending an official estimate.
  • For mixed work, set the interior and exterior paint defaults before adding room-level product overrides.

What to learn first

Read these guides in order:

  1. Glossary
  2. Products and services
  3. Create an estimate
  4. Payment-term guardrails
  5. Customer proposals and approvals
  6. Official estimate emails
  7. Rules and permissions

Internal vs customer-facing information

The workspace keeps internal pricing logic separate from what the customer sees. Cost, labor assumptions, internal notes, margin, markup, discounts, and risk adjustments are for your team. Customer-facing documents show the approved scope, terms, line items, and final estimate total.
